# CLAY LABS

Capsule 1 Day Courses of 4 Hours —

Experimental practice & material research topics

Clay Labs are research- oriented, contemporary ceramic practice courses of 4H in one day that explore a more specific topic in ceramics in detail. They are a space for experimentation, creativity, and learning new ceramic techniques from one of our experienced ceramic mentors and artists in Residence. Each month we explore a different theme — from sculptural forms and surface textures to functional objects and creative glazing

CLAY LAB #1

Marbled Clay Studies

20TH JULY // 5-9PM

This capsule workshop explores marbled clay as a way of working with multiple clay bodies in combination. Through layering, compression, and reworking, internal structures emerge that become visible only through cutting, reworking, and firing.

Participants can develop both utilitarian and sculptural pieces. The emphasis is on how different clay materials interact, and how small decisions in handling produce distinct internal patterns, surfaces, and formal outcomes.
